Floral Rows
Newest Quilt!
I had a lot of trouble with this one. For batting I sticked together a bunch of bits of fleece leftover from my other quilts and its a bit lumpy as a result. I love the floral though :) Darling boy bought them for me.

Project of Doom = Harry Potter Quilt!
I've started making a Harry Potter bookcase quilt using the patterns by sewhooked.
It involves paper piecing which is new to me, but really not as difficult as I thought it would be!
I'm extremely excited.

Kiddie Quilt - Postage Stamp Quilt
I had ordered 150 2.5 inch squares from Ebay and cut up a few 5 inch squares into 2.5 and made a postage stamp quilt. I didn't iron it, and some of my seams are wonky. I don't love many of the patterns/colors and I wasn't really feeling it all that much at all.
Of course, now its done, I don't think it is all that bad, and I think it will look pretty good in a kids playroom.

I love this one! I made it with second hand men's shirts from the opshop and made up the pattern as I went along!

Jelly Roll Race
I put that jelly roll to instant good use and made a jelly roll race quilt!
Except I didn't race..
I sat in my room alone quilting and listening to the Harry Potter audiobooks.
It sounds a lot worse when you type it out like that! I had so much fun!
I've taken photos, but I can't upload them yet. I'll take some tomorrow and then again when I add borders.
I'm thinking I will give it to my youngest sister for Christmas.
It is CRAZY bright. I-can't-sleep-because-my-quilt-is-distracting-me kind of bright. I hope she'll like it!

My First Quilt
My first quilt has been a while in the making.
I started it last year using a borrowed 'sew fun' sewing machine and finished the quilt top.
Then, this year, the first thing I did with my new machine was quilt it all together!
There are so many mistakes in this quilt, I wouldn't know how to begin to list them.
But really, they don't matter. I learnt a lot making this quilt, I learnt things which I could only learn by jumping in headfirst.
So I finished up the binding on Saturday and yesterday (Monday) I sent my first quilt off to my mother in the states. Shipping costs are horrible, but I wanted my mom to have my first quilt. I hope she'll love it despite all the mistakes, and keep it on a couch :) To cuddle with my sisters and my cats.
Here it is:
Photo taken in the courtyard of my residence after days of rain. I like it.
Batting was so expensive - so I used a fleece blanket.
Backing was so expensive - so I used a king size flannel sheet on sale at Kmart.
My lines are petty wonky, I machine stitched my binding and I think I missed a few loose threads even though I tried to get them all.
Yet, looking at it like this makes me pretty happy :)

Finally!
We've been together for almost a week now and I just love it dearly.
I feel it needs a name, Lucille? All the best sidekicks are named Lucille.
BB King can't be wrong.
She'll be Lucy for short.
